FAQ

What do I do when the driveway is covered in snow?

It is bound to happen if you are visiting in the winter months. We have a couple of snow shovels placed in the garage for your use. While outside shoveling, please dress appropriately and be conscious of the steep driveway. Tobogganing might be fun but is not suggested!

How do I start the fireplace?

Simply flip the switch to the right of the fireplace. The left switch provides heat, and the right switch ignites the fire. When you are done we kindly ask that you turn both switches off. Stay warm!

How do I use the grill?

Here is a link to the "how-to" for the grill. When you're ready to use, you can open the propane and grill away. (If you are in need of a new propane tank, there is an extra in the garage). Once you have finished using the grill, please tighten the valve on the propane tank to close the flow of gas.

How do I use the Kamado Joe smoker?

Word to the wise...if you are unfamiliar with charcoal smoking, we suggest you not try now. It can be a bit complicated if you are unfamiliar. If you would like to continue, here is a "how-to" that can give you the run down. Charcoal and starters are provided in the garage. Once you are done cooking, and the Kamado Joe has FULLY COOLED, please re-cover.

How do I turn on the Bistro lights?

When you walk out the back door look to your left. There is a grey switch that will turn on the bistro lights. Please remember to switch off the outdoor lights when you are done using them.

Do you have any indoor or outdoor games that guests can use?

So. Many. Games. Inside next to the dining table, there is a small cubby with board games and card games. In the garage, you can find giant jenga, chipo, sleds, and cornhole. On the outdoor patio, there is a hook game that is a fun challenge.

Where are the extra towels and blankets?

There are extra towels and blankets in the closet in each bedroom. Feel free to wash and re-use towels and blankets as needed. In the master bedroom, extra towels and blankets are kept in the bottom drawers of the dresser.

How can I adjust the thermostat?

Here is a "how-to" for adjusting the nest thermostats.

What is off-limits to renters?

  • The wine fridge and its contents
  • The closet under the stairs
  • The closet in the master
  • The garage fridge and its contents

Where To Eat

There are SO MANY amazing options. These are some of our go-tos:

  • Tinderbox: Some of the best dining in Flagstaff. The boutique-type restaurant is the perfect date night to spoil your tastebuds.
  • Atria: This should have a Michelin Star. The food, drinks, wine list, and vibe are all on point. Stay tuned as they have some exciting things happening next door!
  • Diablo Burger: Hands-down the best burger you may ever eat. Located in the heart of DT, it is close to some local shops and other wonderful places to grab a bite or a beverage.
  • Cornish Pasty Co.: A small chain of delicious, old-school pastys. You can even pick up and cook at home (like in the airfryer or oven at Big Sky Views)
  • NiMarco's Pizza: Pizza and Wings that will haunt you when you leave. There are two locations in town for maximum convenience. Grab a few brews from Mother Road and you are set for a great night.
  • Taverna: Only a few minutes away from Big Sky Views, but one of the best vibes. Tack on some delicious greek style food and it is a must-visit.
  • Brix: Local, modern and delicious bites and beverages.
  • The Lumberyard: When you arrive, order a yard jar, sign up for a two-stepping class and then wait for them to clear some tables while the DJ sets up. That is one way to start a night-o-fun. They also have a great patio for the kiddos to enjoy and watch the train roll by.
  • Brandy's: The breakfast you crave, diner-style. Would you expect anything else from Route 66? The only rival is Mike and Rhonda's: The Place.
  • Toasted Owl Cafe: Another great stop. Would not have been a full list if this wasn't included.
  • Over Easy: Close and Classic.
